The Devonshire Hotel:

We are looking for an experienced Manager to join our team at The Devonshire Hotel. Your job is to provide exceptional customer service whilst performing your regular duties, as well as Managing a team of waiting staff. You must thrive in a fast paced environment, as the restaurant is based in a busy hotel open all year round. You can usually expect to work morning and evening shifts, weekends, and holidays as per rota. Other duties include talking to guests to ensure they have a good experience, dealing with any guest complaints or workplace issues and reporting them to the Manager. You will be able to relate and manage procedures at the front end delivery into coordinated back of house processes to ensure a smoother guest experience.

 

The main responsibilities of the role:

(Any food & hygiene related certificates are desirable but not required)

  • Coordinate daily, front and back of house restaurant operations
  • Deliver superior service and maximise customer satisfaction
  • Respond efficiently and accurately to any arising guest dissatisfaction
  • Organise and supervise staffing for twice daily meal times for our guests
  • Organise and maintain levels of equipment such as is required for delivery of service
  • Have a keen eye for improving efficiency and reduction of waste
  • Mentor new waiting staff with the correct operational procedures for the Restaurant
  • Ensure all reasonable tasks related to the role are completed as asked by the Hotel Management
  • Greeting and serving guests with food and drinks as required.
  • Take customers' orders and pass them to kitchen staff or bar assistants
  • Work as a team with other staff in the dining room, and effectively be able to communicate with the Kitchen staff.
  • Be accurate and courteous at all times.
  • Be aware of company Health & Safety policy in your workplace and assist others to help to maintain a safe working environment.

 

The ideal candidate for this role will possess some or all of the below qualities, training will be provided but it will assist us if you have a basic understanding of the role.

  • Have extensive Food and Beverage knowledge
  • Able to motivate others to promote guest experience
  • Be attentive and patient
  • Ability to multi-task and not lose performance level under pressure
  • Active listening and effective communication skills
  • Management: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Restaurant Management: 1 year (Preferred)
