​The job:

The role of the Night Porter at The Daish's Hotel is generally about the security of the building while most of our guests are asleep.  A friendly, welcoming and efficient service from our reception is our aim and you will continue the good work carried out by the daytime receptionists. 

16 hours per week plus holiday cover when required. 

Main responsibilities:

  • Undertake front of house duties, including meeting, greeting and attending to the needs of guests to ensure a superb customer service experience 
  • Ensure the security of the building is maintained through the quite hours, as directed by the hotel management. Usually done by regular walk rounds and recording the action in a log. 
  • To deal with guest requests to assist in a comfortable stay, and take notes if you cannot deal with any issue, so that someone can when the day shift begins via a handover meeting at the end of your shift.  
  • To be aware of your hours worked (17 week average rule) 
  • To wear the appropriate uniform provided, along with flat, non- slip shoes. Strictly no trainers. 
  • Be accurate and courteous at all times.  
  • Be fully conversant with the procedures in case of an emergency. This will cover the procedure for guests being taken ill, fire safety and procedure, and also for yourself working alone. 
  • Attend Training and Refresher Training sessions, as required by the hotel management. 
  • Be aware of company Health & Safety policy in your workplace and assist others to help to maintain a safe working environment, including the “buddy” contact process
  • assist guests with luggage if necessary
